Ramos tests positive for drugs after been rushed to the hospital



MANILA – The former president of the Philippines, Fidel Ramos who was rushed to the hospital  on Tuesday for Dengue Fever has tested positive for drugs.

The drug test was among series of tests conducted by doctors to ascertain his health condition and provide necessary medical care.

Ramos, who is hospitalised and feeling very weak challenged the results but other series of repeated tests have proven same.

According to our Filipino correspondent, Ramos took ill suddenly and was diagnosed of dengue fever upon arrival at the hospital.

Though the former president has not yet issued a statement of his ill health, a source at the hospital confirms that he was in critical condition and that the dengue virus had stayed in his system for a while. “He’s resting now” – the source said.

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. Symptoms typically begin three to fourteen days after infection
