Duterte accepts chairmanship of ASEAN 2017
President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday evening acknowledged the chairmanship of the ASEAN Summit in 2017.
In his acknowledgment discourse, Duterte said that the Philippines' chairmanship would highlight the relationship as a model of regionalism and a worldwide player with the enthusiasm of the general population at its center.
The chairmanship will concur with the 50th commemoration of the local association.
"We will seek after activity and upgrade collaboration with worldwide accomplices to guarantee that the ASEAN residents live in peace, steadiness, security, and development all while remaining ASEAN's solidarity and solidarity we will keep up for all times," Duterte said.
It was one of only a handful few occasions when Duterte read a readied discourse.
"The Philippines is prepared and willing to see and guide the affiliation, yet vital to the acknowledgment of our objectives are collaboration and backing from all the ASEAN part states and our discourse accomplices," Duterte said.
The subject for the ASEAN Summit 2017 is likened to Duterte's crusade adage, "Joining forces for Change, Engaging the World."
